I'm an award-winning digital journalist and broadcast professional who has spent decades covering both news and sports on a multitude of platforms. I began my career in New York during the talk radio revolution, moved to Florida to tell tales of The Sunshine State and recently embarked on another life's journey to Arizona to tell the diverse stories of the Grand Canyon State for KJZZ.I served as morning news anchor and reporter for the WLRN and The Miami Herald’s groundbreaking radio operation, and was host and creator of WLRN's renowned weekly public affairs program, The Florida Roundup.I've interviewed some of the world's most interesting people from politics to entertainment, while hosting a variety of talk shows, ranging from hard news to sports.My work has been honored by the Florida AP and Society of Professional Journalists for newscasts as well as feature reporting on such topics as elections, Cuba, weather and sports. I'm also a frequent contributor to NPR's Newscast Unit and have temped there in the past. Prior to my public media experience, I was in commercial radio as sports director for WIOD and WINZ, where I hosted sports-talk shows and anchored coverage of Miami Dolphins, Miami Hurricanes and Miami Heat broadcasts. Mine was the first voice heard on WQAM when it became South Florida’s first all-sports radio station in 1992.I'm a New York native who spent his formative years in broadcasting at at WABC Radio, where I served as Assistant Production Director, responsible for producing, editing and screening various talk shows, including Rush Limbaugh. I also produced New York Yankees baseball broadcasts.While in the Big Apple, I had a stint at NBC Sports, assisting talent such as Bob Costas and Marv Albert on the networks’ NFL football and Major League Baseball coverage.I am married and live in Scottsdale, AZ with my amazing wife Jill.
