I provide designs and design guidance utilizing geogrid within pavement structures and mechanically stabilized earth walls and slopes, focused around utilizing Tensar's unique products. I also provide technical support to our regional sales managers and their customers, typically engineers, contractors and agencies, when they are trying to understand how to use geogrid to improve ground conditions, pavement designs and retaining wall solutions. This is typically done through presentations, design seminars and demonstrations utilizing Tensar's proprietary design software.

Responsible for implementing strategies and methods to secure sales of geogrid. This was accomplished through developing and maintaining relationships with contractors, owners (private and public) and engineers, developing specifications and plans, bidding activities and supporting distribution networks. I balanced working with direct sales to contractors as well as through a complicated and robust distribution network (6 separate distributors in 3 states). I gave technical and general presentations to owners, engineers and contractors intended to help them understand how Tensar’s technology can positively affect any number of issues they have indicated they experience. Demonstrated a strong technical grasp of the position and was able to explain the concepts and benefits of using Tensar’s technology to a variety of audiences.

My primary responsibility in this role for the Grade Separation group was drive business for Tensar in a five state territory (CO, WY, UT, NM and TX from 2016 to 2018) through direct sales and distribution of Tensar's geogrid-based retaining wall options. I was tasked with finding, generating and processing leads to convert them into opportunities. I prepared preliminary designs and material estimates and incorporated them in material and design service quotations to contractors through the competitive bidding process for private and public (local and DOT) projects. I managed design, supply and construction of Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) and Reinforced Soil Slope (RSS) projects contracted to Tensar in the western United States. During procurement (and occasionally before), provided assistance to wall designers and contractors so that everyone's efforts would result in successful construction projects. Actively managed 40-50 projects a year, with revenue figures between $5M and $7M annually. I developed project budgets based around material needs, design services and construction management services. I established schedules for material deliveries, design deliverables and set invoicing schedules. I provided on-site assistance during construction, ensuring that construction conformed to design and specification requirements. I was responsible for negotiating change orders/changes in scope to the original project contract.

Project engineer for a DBE engineering company providing general geotechnical engineering solutions and material testing. Activities included performing functions of a field engineer (borings, material testing, data collection) to establishing testing requirements and schedules (lab analysis using various ASTM methods for establishing geotechnical properties of materials) for active construction projects and producing engineering reports, performing geotechincal analysis and report writing and peer reviewing other engineer's reports. Design experience focused on pavement design/analysis as well as foundation design.
