I have worked in an offshore and marine environment almost continuously since joining the Royal Navy in the late nineteen sixties. I have extensive electrical and mechanical knowledge, and in particular that which is associated with the offshore drilling industry. I started in the drilling industry with Santa Fe Drilling Company as a rig electrician. I worked for S/Fe in the NS for three years before transferring overseas to the international division, located in SE Asia. In 2001 I moved into the Santa Fe regional office in Jakarta, Indonesia, as a senior maintenance foreman, assisting the regional maintenance superintendent with the maintenance budgets, planned maintenance, repair, and upgrade projects, both offshore and in the shipyard, of seven jack-up MODU’s located offshore of several different countries in SE Asia, I was also directly responsible for overseeing the implementation and participation in the company electronic PM system in this region. I already had extensive knowledge of mechanical systems onboard rigs, particularly with drilling related equipment, however, this knowledge was increased during my time based in the regional office for S/Fe Drilling Company, GlobalSantaFe Drilling company and PV Drilling. I was promoted to maintenance superintendent, directly responsible for the maintenance budgets, planned maintenance, repair and upgrade projects, both offshore and in the shipyard, for four jack-up MODU’s offshore Qatar. I remained in this position for one year before being offered a job as maintenance & technical services manager for PV Drilling in Viet Nam. I also worked as a surveyor and maintenance specialist RIS. I am presently working at Frigstad Offshore corporate head office in Singapore, development and enhancement of the company CMMS to bring it in line with client expectations, regulatory requirements and industry best practices.Specialties: MODU construction, CMMS, equipment maintenance, repairs and upgrade projects
