Production Control – Depot & ProductionWorked various process improvement assignments at a macro level aimed at increasing efficiency for both depot and production. My assignments dealt primarily with extensive data analysis that led to improvements in inventory management, effective metrics reporting, and reduction to purchase part lead times Recommended Schedule Key Margin (SMK) updates to 5,000+ parts using prior procurement cycle time data and a basic algorithm. These updates will improve the prioritization of the buyer’s procurement list thus increasing efficiency of purchase part lead times. Estimated savings of $4M, at a minimum, over 3 years Introduced effective metrics reporting for MTS SRUs benefiting both Operations and Production Control by increasing visibility of parts moving through the plant at a closer to real-time frequency Generated a visual process flow map for the MTS SRU Depot PC team clearly demonstrating how their routine, manual PRISM entries affect accurate performance metrics. This visual was critical in aligning the current team, but it also serves as great training material for new team members.

Lead ME - Backplane PWB DesignThe lead ME for a retrofit design effort, ~$60 million to date, which successfully completed extensive and accurate thermal and structural analyses, thus validated the design. Interfaced daily with various customers to ensure their critical subassemblies would meet our system requirements at the system level Received two (2) Team Achievement Awards recognizing consistent outstanding performance Drafted and released a CDR Thermal Analysis Report SDRL which was delivered to the customer  Created and released 15+ part and assembly drawings in ProEngineer using the common release process Created and presented an extensive mechanical design slide deck at a CDR with the customer verifying the design meets all CDR criteria and is ready for production Active lead for weekly technical interface meetings with a supplier consisting of 10+ stakeholders in regards to a system critical subassembly Active participant on an Engineering Review Board to review and approve all components of a new circuit card design

Product Sustaining Mechanical EngineerInterjected my initiative, root cause analysis and process improvement skills as a Product Sustaining ME on a ~$50 million program. Gained valuable troubleshooting experience via several interfaces with various engineering labs to resolve a wide variety of component defects Successfully lead an R6S project team of 6 which resulted in a potential annual savings to the program of more than $16,000 via an assembly process update Designed, fabricated and implemented a $20,000 piece of test equipment to be used on customer returned material and retrofit products to ensure a quality end product for the customer Initially released and revised 19+ part and assembly drawings in various tools using the common release process Received two Raytheon Shining Star Awards

Product Sustaining Mechanical EngineerShadowed an experienced Lead Product Sustaining ME on a ~$50 million program. Gained knowledge of the product line daily and actively participated in program Configuration Control Board, Failure Review Board and Program Performance Review meetings Created and implemented a Microsoft Access database which captured all ME related issues and provided real time status updates for open issues and archived all completed issues for historical reference Uncovered a vibrational testing nonconformance while preparing a vibration fixture preventative maintenance plan. Root cause was identified and a corrective action suggested Assembled mechanical fit check modules to be used by operators during production assembly. Registered fit check modules as assets in ARAMIS and UPS and linked them to a preventative maintenance plan Digested program drawing structure by reviewing 50+ drawings and updating missing next higher assembly references

Methods and Tooling Engineer Gained extensive technical drawing knowledge by studying the company and industry drawing standards while being exposed to hundreds of MTS tooling drawings Created 10+ tooling drawings allowing me to apply my drawing standards knowledge Learned the vast importance of ITAR and Export/Import markings while revising hundreds of existing tooling drawings with appropriate markings Gained valuable product design knowledge by shadowing experienced tooling design engineers
