Mr. Cooper is a Managing Director at Palm Tree, and is focused on advising clients on M&A and capital raise transactions for middle market companies. Mr. Cooper holds Series 82 and 63 licenses. Mr. Cooper has over 30 years of work experience in diverse roles encompassing investment banking and commercial banking, and founding a startup company. Mr. Cooper started his career as a national bank examiner with the Comptroller of the Currency, an agency of the U.S. Treasury Department, performing safety and soundness, consumer compliance and Community Reinvestment Act examinations of nationally chartered commercial banks. Mr. Cooper was a Senior Vice President at Jefferies & Company, Inc., an investment bank, where he completed a number of transactions, primarily focused on debt financings, restructurings and acquisition related activities in a number of industries, including, Oil and Gas, Restaurant, Aerospace and Defense, Industrials, Airline, Communications, Transportation, Sporting Goods and Consumer. Mr. Cooper was head of M&A activity for a telecommunications company specializing in wholesale carrier operations. Mr. Cooper then founded Certain Communications Corporation, a startup company in the telecommunications industry. Mr. Cooper holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
