Phillip Detchmendy is a Managing Director and Executive Producer for leading commercial production companies. Detchmendy has been privileged throughout his career to work with top directors, creators, creatives and agencies globally on advertising projects of many types. Work he is associated with has won major advertising awards including Cannes, AICP, D&AD, Webby’s and One Show. Detchmendy is an industry leader. He is very strategic, both for creative talent and for the companies he has been associated with. Phillip is very sales focused and client facing. He has a deep and wide ranging network in the advertising space. He has unique and varied experiences in companies at all stages - from start-ups to mature industry leaders - and has been an integral part of starting 4 production companies. Detchmendy spent the first seven years of his career working freelance commercial production, going on to be an Executive Producer at GLG, Gartner Grasso and The Underground. After helping Diane McArter launch Omaha Pictures, Detchmendy joined Satellite Films as the commercial EP. He was then Managing Director of Tool for four and a half years, before partnering with Claude Letessier to launch Paranoid US, helping the company win numerous awards. After a stint at The Sweet Shop as US Executive Producer, he helped Stephen Dickstein launch and run Recommended Media. At global production company RSA Films, Detchmendy worked across its advertising and branded entertainment. This was followed by Fancy Content and then as MD launching Ampersand.Phillip is a co-founder of the Fireflies West ride. The Fireflies West are a group of Advertising Professionals who cycle each year from SF to LA to raise money for blood cancer research and treatment at the City of Hope (over $4 million to date). The Fireflies motto is "For those who suffer, we ride."
