Employed as a trainee he was placed into the Brisbane Transmission Design Team. The role was to create installation briefs for the installation and augmentation of transmission equipment including:• Ciena – DWDM/Transport and Packet Network Technologies• Ericsson SDH – OMS 1460 & 1664 Network TechnologiesTo complete these briefs he learned and utilise a number of Telstra Systems including:• TRAC & TPD• Multiman & Cramer• MITS & FTDBOther responsibilities to note include:• Upgrade works on the IEN fibre network• CSF/exchange superstructure• Engaged to build a data analysis tool for the national team using PowerBI• Augmented an existing PDH systemPhillip completed field rotations to physically install a range of Ciena devices and assisted in the packet network trials for the 6500, 5142 and 3904.No trainees from the Networks Business Unit were offered positions or contracts at the end of the traineeship due to a hiring freeze.

Wood and Wood are industry leaders in Architectural and wayfinding signage.At Wood & Wood I turned signage and architectural fascia concepts into buildable solutions, creating layouts and specifications. Notable projects included the Lismore Base Hospital expansion & the Ronald McDonald House Brisbane.I also was consulted for the sign design and wayfinding in for the Aspley Market refurbishment to Robinson Road Marketplace.

Real Impact Signs is a growing business located in Woodford producing commercial signage locally.Real Impact Signs was a gateway to the sign industry after completing my degree. While there I designed and laid up signs on the floor. This gave me exposure to professional printing techniques and materials as well as an induction to sign layout and car wraps.
