Left after a short time here due to unforeseen retrenchment within Lafarge.My responsibilities included but was not limited to plant control for various sites, staff management, safety management, quality management, customer relations and achieving monthly budget set out. Company requested that I relocate back to JHB due to growth of their operations and the workload that was put on current plants. I was tasked with evaluating and helping/fixing current plant to set correct standard etc.After this I was tasked with the construction, together with sub-contractors, of a new plant and manage this process from earthworks right up to a fully operational plant concrete. Including staff appointments, setting up admin systems and all aspects needed for an operational plant. The plant is currently operational.

Responsible for all manufacturing activity, plant maintenance, facilities maintenance, quality control, housekeeping, security, safety and workplace discipline in the facility under my control to comply with company policies at all time. Also assist in the planning and execution of project related matters when needed. I reported directly to the General Manager and Managing Director on a regular basis, as the factory I ran is not at head office. I was trusted to run my own diary and plan my day to maximize production. My staff consisted of 20 people, which included operators, supervisors, forklift drivers and general laborers.

I registered a closed corporation within the technical manufacturing and production fields. I acted as the general manager, performing all buying and technical queries. I also acted as a welder and fitter for the business. We did minor home renovations and any maintenance, whether privately owned homes or industrial. In this case I performed the full site manager and safety functions.

Company closed downMy main task involved the general overseeing of all current projects within the mining industry, mostly Anglo Platinum. Which included concrete construction, steel construction and fiber glass. This included managing all site staff and general logistics regarding construction, major lifts and compliance with all health and safety regulations at any given time. Ensuring that suitable and competent staff is employed. Full project managing function when required. Daily diary management and process flow including reports.

My duties included the full management function which consisted of, administrating of all resources, stock control, staff management and logistic planning. I was responsible for the startup and development of this branch.
