• Department Head of an Industrial Drilling vessel that conducts offshore drilling in deepwater environments.• Assist Project Operational Team Leader during two separate construction projects in Samsung Heavy Industries, managing construction and commissioning vessel marine systems from operational standpoint. Total project estimates each at $640 million for total vessel costs. • Prepare and oversee departmental monthly budgets and budget for department project management. • Stay abreast of current Flag State, industry, and Class standards and implement changes to regulations.• Conduct ISPS and ISM internal and external audits in conjunction with Company and Flag State auditors.• Responsible for maintenance, testing, and implementing changes to vessel safety and firefighting equipment as per IMO regulations.• Vessel Security Officer on board, which includes maintaining Ship Security Plan, conducting security drills and training, and implementing changes to ISPS Code to vessel procedures. Coordinate ISPS implementation with Company and Port Facility Security Officers.• Oversight of all departmental personnel, daily management of 10 personnel on board.• Act as Person-in-Charge of vessel during the night, oversight of upwards of 200 personnel depending on operations.• Oversee operation of vessel systems, including ballast, fire and gas, and power generation machinery and associated auxiliaries. Responsible for operation and monitoring of 60MW diesel electric power plant.
