Phillip has analysed the set of Data Item Descriptions (DID) assigned to the program and has provided DID tailoring to more extensively support the software management program controls. Continuing to generate Information and Communications Technology (ICT) documentation, necessary and sufficient to sustain (e.g., grow) and transition (e.g., virtualise) the myriad of stand-alone clusters, networks and systems developed by Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG) divisions. In my spare time, I’m currently researching the ability to support software/systems engineers in the generation of requirements specifications. My approach is to start with a single sentence describing the system to be developed, identification of noun phrases within this sentence and then guiding the engineer in the hierarchical decomposition of these noun phrases until the specification completes (i.e., the noun phrase definition is adequately provided by a dictionary definition or the definition is understood by the graduate engineer). My motivations for this research stem from my own tortured experiences in the review of requirements specifications produced by the staff that I have managed and my frustrations from my own cognitive limitations experienced on complex projects. Taking some time off to revisit my education. I've enrolled, full time, in the University of South Australia's Cyber Security and Forensic Computing graduate diploma program - now completed. I've undertaken studying for PRINCE2 certification - now completed with both the Foundation and Practitioner certifications.

Responsible for the Software Engineering discipline across Raytheon Australia with software functional management responsibilities.

As part of the Specialty Engineering Cross Product Team I lead the HSI programme over the AWD Combat System.

Spent some time investigating the capability of the Raytheon USA Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) Integration Backbone (DIB) product at DSTO Edinburgh. I am also assisting DSTO staff in the definition of an Australian Intelligence Network simulator that will be used to evaluate the networking and DCGS needs of the Australian Intelligence community.
