This remedial technology will be included in the overall remedial actions by amending several interim action records of decision associated with the 100 Area of DOE’s Hanford Site.

• Managed the preparation of the Postclosure Safety Analysis Report (SAR) that was submitted to NRC as a part of the License Application for the proposed Yucca Mountain Nuclear Repository. This work was for Sandia National Laboratory under DOE’s Lead Laboratory arrangement. The postclosure SAR covers all aspects of postclosure safety from water infiltration and canister degradation to potential dose to reasonably maximally exposed individual over a 1M year period. Coordinated the technical writing of twelve lead authors dispersed among four national laboratories in addition to specialty contractors. Worked with the client on schedule and content issues and developed recovery plans as necessary. Ensured technical consistency and balanced level of detail between the 12 major SAR sections and ensured that the SAR was responsive to the NRC review criteria. Supported SAR development schedule, and overall SAR content and structure. • Supported major revisions to several of the SAR sections such as the section on unsaturated zone transport. Supported revisions to the features, events, and processes (FEPs) portion of the biosphere model.• Supported DOE in their efforts to restore credibility to the site infiltration model, one of the major components of the SAR. Authored the report Data Analysis for Infiltration Modeling: Development of Soil Units and Associated Hydraulic Parameter Values which provided some of the necessary input data for the infiltration model. • Protocol lead for the Beale AFB, Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) Internal Environmental Compliance Assessment and Management Program (ECAMP) assessment.
