I began my career in health and social care as a volunteer for MindWise New Vision in 2009 until 2010, at which point I applied for my HND - Level 5, Health and Social Care. Soon into my role, I applied for a part-time position that wove neatly into my studies and gave me a paid placement for the duration of my course. I passed with distinction, then applied for a full-time position with Inspire - Learning Disabilities as a support worker in Belfast, I gained a lot of experience in this role. This enabled me to apply for a Team Leader position with MindWise New Vision. Since my return to MindWise NV I have completed my QCF - Level 5, Leadership and Management and been promoted to Services Manager across the Sothern Trust area of Northern Ireland. The Services that I manage vary in the level of support that we offer, staffed at different levels and are unique in their own way. I manage 6 members of staff when fully staffed and support 27 tenants across my three services.
