Being born and raised in Southern California, I have grown up surrounded by the beauty of California’s natural resources. Over the years I have seen firsthand how precious and finite these resources are and how they must be protected to ensure future generations may have access to them too. I strive to improve the ways we manage natural resources in California and to continue growing as a biologist. My broad skillset has been refined through my diverse experiences which include: bio-monitoring, California sensitive species surveys, mesocarnivore management, endangered species management, ArcGIS mapping, report writing, scuba diving, and statistical analysis. My sensitive species experience include: California least tern, western snowy plover, ridgeway’s rail, least bell’s vireo, California gnatcatcher, white-faced ibis, western burrowing owl, desert kit fox, antelope squirrel, California newt, California legless lizard, peregrine falcon, Joshua tree, short-jointed beaver tail cactus, southern tarplant, and Mariposa lily. These experiences have been bolstered by my educational background, having completed my M.S. in Conservation and Restoration Science and B.S. in Biochemistry. Having been educated in these two fields I have developed a wholistic understanding of biology, starting from the molecular level up to the ecosystem level, which has helped me become well-balanced environmental scientist.
