Helping middle school students has been my passion for over 25 years. The middle school students have unlimited potential both academically and athletically. I strive to help those students reach their potential and find their passion as the travel through the middle school. Always strive to build relationships with students that will help give them an extra trusted person in their life. Whether using "Character Counts" Strategies or "8 Keys of Integrity" as tools to help students be safe, respectful and responsible members of the school.As a teacher, I strive for students to be advocates for their learning. I give several opportunities for students to ask questions, practice skills, and demonstrate mastery of the skills. I also give students the opportunity to collaborate as well as to work independently. I believe if students have practiced the skills (homework) they should do well on summative assessments. If they do not do as well as they think they should we will work together and retake the summative assessment until they have demonstrated mastery of the skill. As an athletic director I have created the schedule for volleyball, boys and girls basketball and football for our entire conference. I supervise nearly 50 home events on a yearly basis. Three major events are an 18 team wrestling invite, a nine team coed track meet, and a coed cross country meet that has over 250 runners. Very proud of our cross country meet as it is a middle school only meet that is not tied in with a high school meet, one of only two in the state. Strive in scheduling to provide opportunities for all levels of competitors, along with a developmental program this allows for a no cut situation.
