From a childhood of operating heavy equipment in my family's business to the last 35 years of delivering complex design and construction projects, it has provided me with the skills for developing creative solutions and strategies that meet the unique needs of my customers and a passion for customer service.I am Stantec's Mine Closure, Reclamation, and Asset Transformation Practice Lead. I specialize in integrated mine closure planning, implementation, post-closure land use, monitoring, and maintenance. My closure expertise includes open pits, underground mine workings, processing mills and industrial facilities, heap leach facilities, tailings storage facilities, tailings dams, waste rock facilities, solid and hazardous waste landfills, and infrastructure. As an Engineer of Record and Mine Closure Specialist for Stantec, I am the Architect at the beginning of the project providing foresight, organizing teams, and developing approaches to the design and construction process by delivering the final product with closure in mind. I have developed multi-national teams for projects worldwide, including Africa, Australia, Europe, Indonesia, and North and South America, using the combination of local talent and international experts. I believe in safety through prevention in designs, design with closure in mind, hard work, integrity, honesty, and environmental stewardship.
