Implant Sciences was a public company (AMEX: IMX) producing explosive trace-detection systems for the Security, Safety and Defense (SS&D) markets based on proprietary sample collection and mass spec technology.For over 20 years, IMX produced coatings for various biomedical implants while also providing sophisticated technical services to the semiconductor industry and explosives detection systems for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).* Led the turnaround and reinvention of this manufacturing company with 125 employees.* Revamped the business model, replaced key staff, restructured debt, settled legal disputes, raised capital, and sold off non-performing assets. Successfully positioned the company for continued growth and profitability.* Accelerated the transition into a line of products for DHS targeted at detection of trace explosives and illicit drugs.* Within the first 12 months, opened what became a successful China office.* Within 18 months, reached the first consecutively profitable months for the company in 20 years.* Achieved total corporate transformation and revitalization with a return to profitability within two years; firm became more focused and streamlined with improved functionality. Later, the company sold for over $100,000,000 to a large aerospace firm.

* Developed an advanced diagnostic system for a clinical application in cancer detection – a patented, light-based imaging technology.* Recruited and led the management team with professionals in R&D, Clinical Research, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Finance.* Initiated and completed extensive clinical testing-and-reporting in multiple U.S. and international locations.* Achieved key certifications and international standards.* Completed a successful capital raise largely from high-net-worth investors in the U.S. and abroad.* Subsequently sold the company to an overseas investor group.

Technology start-up medical device company with a unique drug delivery capability. Raised funds, obtained FDA approval, launched the product and subsequently sold the business to Baxter Healthcare for a significant multiple on revenues.

At the time, Mitek Systems was a high-tech manufacturer of high security products for NSA, CIA, State and other members of the U.S. Intelligence community. Subsequent to my departure and due to changing market conditions, Mitek transitioned to a software company that specializes in digital identity verification and mobile capture, built on artificial intelligence algorithms. Their technology allows people to deposit checks via their mobile phones and open bank accounts from mobile devices.

Developed and launched a new product line that generated over $100M in annual sales by the third year. Emerged as one of the most profitable product lines in the Wang inventory.
