Changing Expectations mission is to provide the highest impact STEM and computer science education programs to inspire young people from ethnically underrepresented backgrounds and prepare them to pursue STEM and computing careers. We focus our work on reaching out to young people who might otherwise not have access to quality STEM and computer science education programs.Changing Expectations provides technical assistance specializing in inspiring and raising STEM and computer science academic achievement for African American, Hispanic, and other traditionally underserved students who eat free/reduced lunch and their teachers, parents and (2) STEM and computer science educator preparation and professional development. Changing Expectations Corp also provides STEM education outreach services and informal learning opportunities to the community and the public. Changing Expectations provides the WeTeach_CS Collaborative for Central Texas computer science teachers. We also provide the My Brother's Keeper Coding Makerspace for underrepresented young men of color and the CSforALL RPP for Black and Hispanic students with disabilities through National Science Foundation supported projects. The Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) and the Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA) have formed a joint working group to develop national guidelines for teaching K-12 students about artificial intelligence.
