I am looking to reenter an engineering career. I have been working as a Food Safety and Production Manager in industrial food production. I am looking for the challenge, variety of experience, and security that the engineering field offers. While in school I focused my studies on water related engineering and am eager to learn more about design, construction practices, and project management. My studies have spanned subjects including conveyance, design, management and treatment of water. As a design engineer I have performed site development design for projects ranging from SFR to multi plat developments. This included design of site grading, stormwater mitigation, utilities, and roadway. More recently, I’ve pursued a career in industrial food manufacturing. I’ve learned about the chemistry and microbiology of sanitation and food safety. I’ve used my skills in CAD to assist in the design of a food processing facility, perform takeoffs, and budget construction. Additionally, I’ve expanded my Excel skills projecting budgets, managing inventories, and processing efficiency data.Over the past year I’ve been part of a collaboration, with King County, Seattle Farmer’s Markets, Stocked General, and others, to strengthen the Seattle region’s local food system infrastructure andincrease access to healthy, affordable food for under served communities. The scope of cooperation for this project, with its multitude of stakeholders, has been a great learning opportunity. It has been a great exercise in listening and communicating while working toward both our common and individual goals. I believe that my desire to learn, ability to collaborate, and variety of experience would make me a valuable employee.
