Responding to climate, culture and the context of a ‘place’ is the foundation of my design philosophy, allowing for the preservation of culture and the creation of new social phenomenon. My creative process requires me to be an effective listener, listening to both the client and the site. I am proficient across many CAD softwares, including Revit - throughout my studies I have successfully demonstrated my ability to design and document in Revit. I love to work both conceptually and with the finer detail - the Design + Construct program at the University of South Australia has offered me a project based learning experience in which I gained the kind of firsthand experience that has prepared me for professional life like nothing else. I was involved in two projects over my studies - the prefabrication of the award winning Fish River ranger accomodation in the NT and the onsite construction of the Port Resolution community visitor accommodation in Vanuatu. I am interested in working across both the residential and commercial sectors, focusing on intimate and engaging interior spaces, placing human experience at the centre of my design process, responding to the way people actually use space. I want to see architecture that creates value - architecture that has the capacity to enrich our lives and society itself.
