Environmental Hydrology ResearchUniversity Of Colorado 2004 - 2007Boulder, Co• Designed and built two soil hydrology study sites. Compared soil water potential and water content at various depths and proximity to the forest canopy simultaneously. The two sites, located in sub-alpine forests within the Valles Caldera National Preserve outside of Los Alamos, New Mexico, were chosen for their difference in elevation as well as dominant vegetation.• Assisted in the setup of two meteorological tower stations. Soil hydrology study sites were both located within the footprint of these towers, making it possible to compare our data with various environmental parameters.• Collected thermocouple psychrometer data, which measures soil water potential, using Campbell Scientific CR7 data loggers. Used water content reflectometers to measure soil water content; recorded data using Campbell Scientific CR10x data loggers.• Developed calibration curves for all instrumentation; these were developed in the lab and used to process all data collected in the field.• Maintained all soil instrumentation, data loggers, and power sources.• Performed laboratory analyses — soil moisture, pH, texture, nutrient analysis, and bulk density. -
