The Evolution Rail consortium is contracted by the Victorian Government to deliver the High Capacity Metro Trains project. The consortium is comprised of Australia’s leading infrastructure services company Downer Group as delivery and maintenance lead, fleet manufacture partner and investor; the world’s largest train manufacturer CRRC as design and technology lead, fleet manufacture partner and investor; and leading independent long-term investor, developer and manager of public infrastructure Plenary Group as commercial and financial lead, asset manager and investor.The A$2.3 billion project is the largest investment in rolling stock in Victoria to date and includes the delivery of 65 high capacity trains being built in Victoria, and the construction of new maintenance facilities in Pakenham East and Calder Park.

Responsible for the management and rapid growth of Sunstone Resources Pty Ltd Sunstone Resources Pty Ltd was a subsidiary of Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) and a rail industry resources specialist based in Melbourne, Australia. It provided critical resources to MTM and the wider rail community in labour, plant and logistics business streams.

Responsible for the management of the Projects Division of Metro Trains Melbourne. The division employed approximately 300-350 project managers/engineers and support staff and delivered approximately A$300m pa of projects into the Victoria rail network. The role was also responsible for managing the relationship and participation in key alliances, including the delivery of major rail upgrades (Regional Rail Link) and Grade Separations. The role also involved being a member of the Metro executive committee, capital committee and participant at Board meetings.

AssetCo is a specialist asset management company owned by Industry Funds Management (IFM), one of the largest Australian industry superannuation fund managers. AssetCo was created for the purpose of managing Public Private Partnership (PPP) investments owned by IFM including the $300M Headquarters Joint Operations Command (JOCHQ) in Canberra, the $194M District Courts Complex in Perth and the $365M Southern Cross Station (SCS) facility in Melbourne.Initially appointed as the General Manager of Civic Nexus which was the developer/operator of the Southern Cross Station, subsequently appointed as the CEO of the total Civic Nexus Group. Then tasked with the role of creating AssetCo. In this regard the CEO role involved the creation of AssetCo, transfer of assets plus the ongoing expansion of the corporate structure and recruitment of additional expertise to develop the company into a billion dollar asset manager. The role reports to an independent Board.

Connex was the holder of the rail franchise covering the Melbourne metropolitan rail network. Responsible for the management of all large scale projects within the franchise and deputy to the GM Technical. This included the management of the Connex interface with the developers and constructors of major infrastructure projects that impacted the rail network. Also responsible for the development and implementation of technical solutions for the Connex rail franchise including the development and delivery of strategic advice to stakeholders on a wide range of technical/project issues including the participation at government level on working parties and technical committees.

Undertook a range of contract and corporate recovering projects in the energy sector including being part of the executive team undertaking the first energy privatisation in the Middle East. This role involved the privatisation of MARAFIQ which was a electricity, water, cooling water and waste water utility based in Saudi Arabia. As GM Customer Services created all the infrastructure for sales, billing and revenue collection including the recruitment of key staff and the commissioning and integration of systems.

Pipex was created as part of the privatisation of the Victorian Gas Industry. The organisation had critical skills in hot tapping of pipelines and the maintenance of high pressure gas infrastructure. Initially appointed as GM responsible for the creation of the entity and the privatisation. The entity was ultimately sold in a trade sale to TD Williamson and then as MD of the Australian Subsidiary I managed the integration of the new business unit into the TDW world wide service chain.
