I am a Chair, Board Member, and legal professional with over two decades of board level experience and 30 years of experience across the Commercial, Government, Government Entity and NfP Sectors with particular legal and construction expertise.In an executive capacity, I am currently a Principal at JBM Advisory Ltd. Here I provide advisory and training services to the construction industry and other industries involved in complex procurement. Previously I was a Lawyer & Partner at Minter Ellison. In these roles I led the Melbourne Construction, Engineering, and Infrastructure Practice Group from 2000-2013, overseeing a 5% pa compound growth in fees and a transition from the bottom 25% profitability in the office to the top 25%. I have also led and managed a multi-disciplinary team in excess of 50 personnel undertaking the Murrin Murrin Arbitration for a multinational Company over a 5-year period from 2005.At board level what I do is drive growth and mitigate risk. I do that by providing guidance on a 'return on investment' approach and by leveraging my strategic planning and leadership skills, extensive knowledge of the construction industry, and deep understanding of Government contracting and relationships. Board level highlights include: Chair & Founding Member of Society of Construction Law Australia, Committee Member of Construction and Infrastructure Law Committee, Law Council of Australia, Chair and Committee Member of International Construction Projects Committee. Finally, I have a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Science in Computers and Physics. I have also received numerous public recognitions for my work e.g. sole winner of Client Choice/Government Contracts, Nominated as 1 of 4 of Australia's finest construction lawyers for 2014, 2015, 2016, and been recognised as a Leading Individual in Construction and Public Procurement by Chambers Global.
