Leading in the development and delivery of community street design and active travel projects across London, making streets and spaces more 'liveable' and better for walking and cycling. Led a complex and innovative traffic calming scheme on New Park Road, Brixton Hill to reduce accidents and increase the quality of the street environment outside a Richard Atkins Primary school. I managed the life cycle of this award winning scheme from community and stakeholder engagement, design to delivery over a 12 month period and sourced additional funding for the permanent works from Transport for London.

I led an innovative community street design project on the Becontree Estate in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. This two year project aimed to create more liveable streets and spaces with residents at the heart of the co-design process, culminating in significant infrastructure changes to the value of £300,000. With the long term aim of increasing walking and cycling rates this project combines urban design, community engagement and sustainable transport planning to create better places for people to live in and move through. The project was featured at the New London Architecture FIT:London exhibition and I recently spoke at the Design Council's Active by Design summit about how community street design can be a catalyst for increasing walking and cycling within a local area.
