Accomplishments include: • Lead the team that designed, developed, tested and implemented a complex inventory tracking system specifically tailored for the contract warehousing industry. This system allows contract warehouses to track inventory for multiple customers, each with a unique set of tracking and reporting needs. Designed to be platform independent, it allows customers to manage their offsite inventory, produce reports and process shipment orders via a standard Web Browser interface.• Implemented nationwide satellite tracking system for commercial truck fleet utilizing GPS receivers and advanced management and tracking software. This system allowed logistics customers to track their shipments from anywhere using the Internet.

Lead the team that designed, developed, tested and implemented a complex inventory tracking system specifically tailored for the aircraft salvage industry. White Industries, Inc. is the largest aircraft salvage operation in the U.S. and has a massive inventory of used aircraft, aircraft parts and subassemblies. These must be tracked using specific FAA guidelines pertaining to traceability and use. The system allows tracking and management of inventory, processing of sales orders and commissions, maintains traceability according to FAA regulations, and historically archives aircraft disposition. The system is still in use today.

Lead a design team that developed a specialized high-speed networking adapter. This new technology allowed data to be transferred over standard Category-5 copper wire at speeds in excess of 1.2Gbps. Successfully designed, built and tested several prototype circuit boards and wrote device drivers for Windows 9x/NT and Linux.

Worked closely with the IT department on an expansion of their existing network. Was responsible for installing several remote network systems at electric plants and offices running Novell Netware, Sun Solaris and Windows.

While working as a contract consultant, aided the IS department in the development of a variety of software applications including amortization schedules for consumer loans, and problem tracking and analysis applications for their help desk requests. Also aided in the installation of new networking systems using Microsoft Windows on an IBM Token Ring Network.

Complete day-to-day operations of this small computer services business after its sale. A colleague had purchased the business and hired a manager to run it. Within 6 months, the manager had defrauded the company and my colleague was forced to terminate his employment. He hired me to step in and run the business. Worked at this project for more than 2 years and was able to get the business back on its feet well enough to sell it at a profit in 1991.
