I'm kind of an old fashioned guy, I come from the era when oceanographers prided themselves on being competent seamen as well as jacks-of-all-trades, able to save their science (and sometimes themselves) with what they have on hand and their belt knife (Swiss Army Knife optional). My greatest strengths are in developing and presenting public talks and in building effective and highly motivated volunteer groups. My formal training is as a zoologist and an oceanographer. I have extensive field experience and a strong background in research institution management, risk management, personnel training, exploratory data analysis, computer networking, legal consulting and Stock Photography agency operations and management. I have a modest level of experience working with ROVs and Submersibles and am (as far as I know) the only non-CANDIVE employee to be counted as submersible support crew for their operations.I now have all that I had looked forward to but I find myself in need of a meaningful way to apply my diverse set of skills. I especially enjoy tasks that involve teaching and managing group dynamics, especially when they take me back out on the water often.
