Employed in the pre opening team for the deluxe Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort.Commencing duty whilst the Resort was under construction. The role encompassed aspects of setting up a new sales operation,sales and marketing and being involved closely with the day to day operation of a large resort operation.The Director of Sales and Marketing role involved sitting on the Executive Committee to oversee the day to day operation of this outstanding facility which was Marriott Internationals flagship in to Australia.The role also included developing long term relationships with major events on the Gold Coast such as Magic Millions Sales and Horse Racing Carnival.Other strong relationships were developed in AFL and Spring Carnival Horse Racing in Melbourne through a relationship with the VRC.
