Primary systems support for VMS Alpha Server systems running IDX Classic and IDXrad applications in a 24X7 environment. Provided DBA services for MUMPS/Cache on which these applications ran. Managed printer queues, job scheduler and SLS. Responsible for backups, performance monitoring, capacity planning, upgrading existing systems and installing new VMS systems. Selected projects: • Functioned as systems subject matter expert and coordinated tasks with other IT teams for physical move of IDX system to new data center. Created and helped implement project plan for actual move which was achieved flawlessly and within tight window of off hours downtime.• Planned and executed a full remote restore of the IDX system including designing the disaster recovery scenario, working with restore vendor and verifying that the restore was completed within the specified time. Successful outcome met key requirement in customer contract.• Produced performance reports to persuade management to approve a server upgrade, then planned and implemented project including working with hardware vendor on design, coordinating hardware/software installation and executing data transfer. Project completed with no users downtime and application processing improved as much as 60% depending on tasks.

Provided System/Network management support for various companies on a contract basis for their NT and VMS environments.Took over leadership of project at Roche to replace geographically distributed and obsolete servers into a consolidated clustered system.
