Joining as a contract developer I quickly took a permanent role as Project Scrum Master, working with the core hub platform teams. The role was part scrum master for 2 teams and product owner working with the numerous project managers to capture their project requirements, provide feedback and timely delivery of the core functionality each project required. Implementing an article processor engine to manage the semantic analysis of the publishers half a million articles.The learning curve and major risks were mitigated through the production of prototype in the first sprint using tools that support the businesses key technology stack. The project saw the use of Mule as a parallel workflow engine integrating Mark Logic as an XML data layer and the Luxid semantic processing engine. Performance and data accuracy were key drivers for this project where the prototype estimated the run time at several months but through the use of the workflow engine this was reduced to days.The semantic data was then used to provide better search results as well as search faceting based on the key words determined by the Luxid engine.
