As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School/Boston Children's Hospital, I am working on a robotic platform for automating the operation of tendon-controlled steerable surgical catheters, focusing on applications for cardiac operations and procedures. I apply my skills and knowledge in robotics, controls, and design to create innovative solutions for complex and dynamic challenges in the surgical robotics domain. Before joining Harvard Medical School/Boston Children's Hospital, I was a Graduate Research Assistant at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where I earned my PhD in Robotics. My research focused on medical robotics, specifically the development of an exoskeleton for restoring hand and finger function for individuals with hand dysfunction. I designed, fabricated, and tested the voice-controlled, tendon-driven system, and evaluated its clinical effectiveness on individuals with spinal cord injury. I also worked on self-sealing suction cups integrated into the hand exoskeleton to explore alternative grasping modalities. I published multiple papers and presented my work at several conferences and workshops.I am passionate about robotics and its applications in various fields and contexts. I enjoy working with interdisciplinary teams and learning from diverse perspectives and experiences. I am always eager to take on new challenges and opportunities to expand my horizons and contribute to the advancement of science and technology.

Graduate Research AssistantGeorgia Institute Of Technology Aug 2017 - Dec 2022Atlanta, GeorgiaDeveloped an assistive/rehabilitative voice-controlled, tendon-driven hand exoskeleton system for individuals with hand dysfunction. The soft robotic exoskeleton is controlled via a custom smartphone app with voice control at the high level and uses an admittance controller at the low level for real-time adaptable control.Worked on 3D-printed self-sealing suction cups to investigate different forms of grasping using the exoskeleton system. -
Graduate Teaching AssistantGeorgia Institute Of Technology Aug 2020 - Dec 2020Conducted a teaching practicum for a class of around 20 undergraduate and graduate students.Planned and taught three lectures covering various topics in robotics (forward kinematics, dynamics).Coordinated several review sessions for the students to help prepare them for exams. -
Graduate Teaching AssistantGeorgia Institute Of Technology Aug 2017 - May 2018Graded homework assignments and exams and held review sessions for classes of approximately 40 undergraduate students. -
InternMote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium May 2016 - Aug 2016Sarasota, FloridaOptimized the internal mechanisms of an autonomous oceanographic platform (OPD) capable of detecting and mapping harmful phytoplankton blooms.Overhauled Python scripts and created new Matlab programs to analyze the data collected from deployed OPD units.Devised and validated a new calibration method for OPD units before deployment. -
InternNational Institute Of Neurological Disorders And Stroke (Ninds) May 2015 - Aug 2015Bethesda, MarylandWorked on a team of three to design a crowd-sourced machine-learning neural network project for mapping neurons in brain tissue slices.Designed and programmed interactive website tutorials to instruct website users how to train the neural network to search for and identify neurons. -
InternNational Institute Of Mental Health (Nimh) Jun 2014 - Aug 2014Bethesda, MarylandDeveloped programs with Python to analyze and display visual representations of functional magnetic resonance imaging data.Programmed several Matlab scripts for training rhesus monkeys for functional magnetic resonance imaging tests. -
InternNational Institute Of Standards And Technology Jul 2012 - Aug 2012Gaithersburg, MarylandHelped to develop a web-based application using JavaScript that reads in data from a machine tool, analyzes the data, and displays the errors from that data in both graph and table formWorked on a web-based document builder application to create machine tool test files.
