Whether it’s trekking in the Himalayas, finishing the Great North Run or kicking back with a sudoku, I love completing challenging problems. This is what lured me into pursuing a career in accounting from the age of 16 – the satisfaction when a reconciliation reconciles or a balance sheet balances.I am an accounting & finance graduate from Newcastle University with five years’ experience managing the finances for a non-profit International China Concern (ICC). I enjoyed applying the knowledge gained from my degree to help develop and advance the financial systems of ICC and, thus, maximise the charitable aims of the organisation. I have spent the last four years working in accounting practice. In this time, I have honed a comprehensive understanding of accountancy by working with a diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from small sole traders and partnerships to large companies. With a strong commitment to client satisfaction and a drive for continuous learning, I am well equipped to tackle complex financial challenges and contribute to the success of any organisation.KEY ACHIEVEMENTS• Implemented Xero to replace the previous, outdated software, which significantly increased productivity and functionality.
