Assists emergency response and plans, provides annual general chemical hygiene and lab safety training, provide instructors and workers consultation on safe work practices for working with and managing hazardous chemicals, reviews and develops safe working guidelines for laboratory workers and students, inspects safety equipment annually, inspects general lab and facility conditions annually, develops and maintains the Laboratory Safety Manual, audits the department program/inventory/equipment periodically, reviews and updates the chemical hygiene plan annually, works with other building Chemical Hygiene Officer's to develop and update the districts chemical hygiene plan annually, works with building and district management to ensure funding, compliance, and implementations are fully supported and accomplished within set time frames, serves as the frontline advocate for all aspects of lab safety.
