I launched a solo communications consulting practice working primarily with Colorado private philanthropy and Denver city government.

Served as a communications advisor and practitioner for philanthropist and U.S. Ambassador Swanee Hunt. My responsibilities were divided between overseeing communications for her Denver-based foundation, The Hunt Alternatives Fund, and assisting her in her other public and private endeavors, including her role as a diplomat in the administration of President Clinton.

Served on Mayor Federico Pena's senior staff as speech writer, communications strategist and assistant press secretary during one of the most robust periods of growth in Denver's modern history. Helped support Mayor Pena's efforts to build Denver International Airport, open the Colorado Convention Center and revive Denver's economy.

The Downtown Denver Partnership is the center city's leadership hub, bringing together public and private stakeholders to ensure the long-term economic and physical health of Denver's vibrant downtown area. In the late 1980s, Denver's downtown was undergoing dramatic change in the midst of a serious economic recession.
