  • Boston Scientific
    Process Development Intern
    Boston Scientific May 2024 - Aug 2024
    Maple Grove, Minnesota, United States
Process Development Intern in Interventional Cardiology Therapies (ICTx) working on Piezoelectric Transducer Tuning for a High-Frequency Coronary Imaging Catheter and a side project in Tissue Characterization for a Transcatheter Heart Valve. I modeled a transducer’s performance using a new software tool, PiezoCAD, to reduce the high costs and long lead times associated with prototyping high-frequency transducers. Through data and software analysis, I determined the appropriate applications of PiezoCAD for future use at BSC. Throughout my internship, I learned the components and manufacturing processes of transducers. As well as performed industry-standard testing of a 60 MHz composite transducer. As a side project that I took on during my internship, I characterized tensile properties of tissue by performing destructive testing on an Instron. The goal was to understand the impact of altering factors, like time and the solution itself, on the decellularization process.Another important part of my summer was BRIDGE(Developing Black Leaders) ERG where I contributed to planning and executing events within 2 subcommittees.
  • Michigan State University, Institute For Quantitative Health Sciences & Engineering
    Research Assistant
Michigan State University, Institute For Quantitative Health Sciences & Engineering Jun 2023 - Aug 2023
    East Lansing, Michigan, United States
While working in an active neuroscience lab, I trained neural networks to track the patterns in the fine structure of animal motions collected from mouse videos with the goal of understanding mouse brain dynamics in relation to its behavior. Further, I taught neural networks to track infants’ emotions collected from various sets of videos with the goal of analyzing infants’ emotions in controlled, naturalistic settings.I also analyzed and tested different software, such as face map and lightning pose, on characteristics like their usability and the quality of data they collected to help determine which AI model works best for the different types of data.

I also taught lessons and performed classroom management for a total of 15 hours a week. The majority of the students in this summer programming were students that struggled during the school year. In addition, I designed unique robotics curriculum that targeted the learning level of the students and shared my passion for science and robotics.
