“Sustainable results are achieved when innovative strategies are rigorously executed by strong collaborative teams.” As a Omnichannel executive with over 35 years in the retail and wholesale space, I have delivered strong, consistent results throughout my career. The common threads of my career are strategy development, strong execution, building top-performing teams, creating a collaborative culture, and delivering strong results. At The Michaels Companies, I was a member of its Executive Committee and served as President of Merchandising and Supply Chain until I retired in April 2020. I joined the company in 2009 when it was privately held by Bain Capital and Blackstone and was a key executive leading the company to its IPO in 2014. I was privileged to have the opportunity to recruit, mentor, and promote several leaders at Michaels. Together, we created and executed an annual category management strategy, introduced and grew private brands to 65% of total sales, and opened Michaels' first global sourcing office in China. I served as Chairman of the Board of Michaels' Darice Holdings Company, where I was responsible for Michaels' overseas operations. I also played a critical role developing the Michaels Maker Strategy to drive long-term differentiated growth. While at Michaels, I regularly delivered insightful board presentations, built strong board relationships, and provided thought leadership as a Retail executive. When I retired from Michaels in early 2020, I did so with new energy and interest to share my expertise as a board member or senior advisor helping retailers be successful. Currently, I am engaged with Roland Berger, CraftJam, and DecoArt.
