I am open to potential Sr. Financial or Business Intelligence Analyst opportunities.My Motto: "Try using pivot tables to work smarter, faster, more efficiently and more accurately".Over the years I've refined my approach to manipulating data and it goes like this.As I design my spreadsheet, I like to have 3 distinct areas. I call these areas Import, Calc and Summary. The Import area contains the "raw data" and I add value to it by analyzing and categorizing it with vlookups and logic statements. This "enhanced" database is then summarized in the "Calc" area usually by multiple pivot tables. Again value is added by associating more codes and calculations to the data. Finally, the data from the Calc area is then displayed in an organized report, first in extreme detail, and then, on subsequent tabs, it is "rolled up" into a more summarized report. Graphs and charts are added to provide a more visual representation of the data. When possible, I setup a "data validation list" for the end users to pick and choose different variables for what-if scenarios.I am very curious and strive for continuous improvement. I enjoy the challenges brought by manipulating/massaging large amounts of data so that I can "tell a story" using numbers and charts. My battle cry is: A picture is worth a thousand words!I enjoy helping/teaching my coworkers these spreadsheet and data manipulating/massaging techniques.Specialties: Excel: Pivot tables, advanced logic formulas, data validation lists, charts, graphs, and Ad Hoc reports.
