Sheikh Khurshid Alam is a lawyer, social activist, and educator from Kolkata, India. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Advancing Education in Indian Society.Alam has a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Calcutta and a two Master of Laws degree from the Aliah University and Azim Premji University. He has also worked as a lawyer at the Alipore Judge's and Criminal Court in Kolkata.In addition to his legal work, Alam is also passionate about education and social justice. He has worked with the Azim Premji Foundation as a Block Coordinator and Associate Resource Person in Bemetara District of Chhattisgarh, where he worked closely with government school teachers to improve teaching practices and developed learning materials for children and teachers in the Upper Primary level in Social and Political Life subject. He has also contributed to the content development of the SCERT Chhattisgarh textbooks for the Upper Primary level in Social and Political Life subject and developed training materials for teachers on the new curriculum.
