It was a natural step for me starting in the construction industry, forging a career in architectural design using my building studies. I then side stepped into project management which is where I feel my skills and experiences align neatly. I enjoy understanding projects from their inception to completion and considering how clients will genuinely be using the buildings.Project Management and operations skills are highly transferable, and I was pleased to be able to help the family car hire company grow, in the role of operations Manager (at the same time as I was enjoying supporting my young family grow, wrapping work around them). Developed from a background in project management I ensure that all projects and campaigns run by Rhinocarhire.com meet or exceed our expectations and are delivered on time and on budget. I was responsible for the application process that led to the accolade of Best Car Hire Website 2010 and 2018 at the Travolution Awards for Rhinocarhire.com. In 2020, I successfully secured Best Budget Car Hire Website from the Lux-Life Magazine, Travel Awards. The pandemic (and challenge the travel sector subsequently faced) helped me decide to return to the construction industry, and I set up Zest Design Solutions in Summer 2020. It’s a network I value hugely, and never lost touch with. I had initially envisaged work coming from domestic sources (private extensions etc), but commercial work soon started to flow, including the opportunity to help support VOR. Architecture and now more pressing environmental impact issues (and retrofit) resonates with me and is something of a return to my calling.
