At present, Virginia resident Phil Roper manages Whittle & Roper, Inc. Realtors, a business that he cofounded in 1986. Through the firm, Phil Roper manages a number of commercial and residential properties, and offers commercial property sales in central Virginia and the surrounding areas. Alongside his work at Whittle & Roper, Mr. Roper holds a leadership position at R & M General Repair (trading as R & M Contractors & Developers), which was established in 1983. He served as a Sales Manager at G.E. Matthews, Inc., Real Estate between 1983 and 1986. Before coming to R & M and G.E. Matthews, he worked as a sales associate at a national real estate company for several years. Mr. Roper attended East Carolina University before enrolling at Richard Bland College, where he studied real estate principles. He later completed coursework in real estate law, appraisal, and brokerage at Moseley Flint Schools of Real Estate. Subsequently, he gained credentials as a Certified Real Estate Appraiser (CREA), a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), and a Registered Apartment Manager (RAM).A socially conscious individual, Phil Roper serves in a number of civic and community service roles, including that of President of the Robert E. Lee Chapter of the Association of the United States Army. He additionally is on the Board of Directors of the Rural Rental Housing Association of Virginia. For two consecutive years, he served as Chairman of the Multiple Listing Committee for the Southside Virginia Association of REALTORS® and has been a member of the organization’s Executive Committee.
