Project execution in tight floor space and with very short timeline. Specified lines from filler through final case handling and conducted vendor evaluations, RFPs, bid analysis, and final recommendation for client decisions. Developed installation sequence to meet production department needs for minimum disruption. Embedded at vendor site to help restore the builds to schedule required. Blister PackagingSpecify and obtain quotes for unusual thermoforming application combining applications that had not previously been combined. Develop collating and cartoning concepts with vendors to address unique client needs. Pickle Packaging in JarsPackaging Engineer responsible for design, equipment layouts, bid packages, and installation support. Leading pickle processor needed to increase production capacity by 77%. Contracted to support the upgrade of three lines. Space was limited for the upgrade, employed creative engineering solutions to implement the project within the footprint of the original line. Working with used equipment from a Canadian site, supported both process and packaging elements of this project packaging pickles into glass bottles. Worked closely with the source site in Canada to develop the project schedule, select contractors, and coordinate project logistics including import/customs paperwork for bringing equipment into the United States. Equipment involved in the upgrades included glass cleaners, inspection equipment, briners, metal detectors, piping, root grinders, pumps, labelers, tray packers, wrap and shrink tunnels, spiral lifts, and palletizers. The project was completed on a fast-track basis, with the labeler through the shrink tunnel for one line being replaced over a three-day weekend.
