As this non-profit’s first civilian CEO in its 70-year history, I lead change initiatives, multi-year strategic planning and day-to-day operations for 54 full-time branches, 35 Indigenous community sport and rec locations and 113 outside school hours care locations generating $90M per annum. I’ve played a key role in building a high-performing workforce with 1,800 civilian employees, 65 police officers and 3,000 volunteers across Queensland. ► Retained charitable status and enabled use of ACNC charity approval logo through resolving major investigation that began just 6 weeks into tenure.► Secured required agreement and acceptance between Board, Queensland Police Commissioner, State Police Union and Minister for Police and Corrective Services upon negotiating deed of agreement.► Transformed organisational governance to optimise operations, with focus on Board level; created Board and sub-committee charters, delegated authority, defined the directors skill matrix, reduced director numbers from 16 to 11, defined Indigenous Director position and outlined new policy and procedures.► Improved staff performance and satisfaction through introducing cultural change and communication strategies. ► Prompted 25 key projects to enhance operations and services upon introducing end-to-end organisation business review.► Increased ‘Braking the Cycle’ program state-wide through negotiating funding with Motor Accident Insurance Commission and the Department of Transport and Main Roads; program received national and international accolades including Prince Michael of Kent International Road Safety Award.► Attained accreditation through Human Services Quality Framework by implementing rigorous standards and internal controls.► Established PCYC within the Indigenous community of Napranum upon inking 7-year privately funded deal with Western Cape Community Trust.► Served on Board of Queensland Fitness and Sport and Recreation Skills Alliance (2016 – 2017).

Following success as a GM, I was promoted to Director overseeing 715 employees and 30 volunteers in delivering support programs and services across QLD and NT with revenue exceeding $70M per annum. I provided high-level advice for national leadership on operational, policy and strategy matters. I also counselled government and policy leadership on youth justice, homelessness, youth unemployment and welfare-to-work reform issues. Government relations was a major component of my duties, including fostering alliances with agencies such as FAHCSIA, PM&C, Justice and state government departments.► Amplified revenue from $55Mto $70M per annum.► Conducted business integration following major restructure, guiding QLD and NT leadership in rebuilding workforce and overhauling operations. ► Introduced rigorous standard of behaviour for all staff and unified teams through establishing briefings and face-to-face engagement as part of cultural change strategy ‘Lead the Way.’► Generated $10M in contracts and new business state-wide via competitive tenders.► Oversaw highest performing employment services area organisation-wide with all sites receiving 3+ stars.► Led organisation through child safety licence audit, meeting 11 stringent standards.► Coordinated new Indigenous employment programs in Ipswich through DEEWR.► Increased number of job seekers assisted through JSA program to 23,000+ per annum.► Optimised Mornington Island Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander programs by establishing 98% local resourcing and diversifying service mix.► Lobbied for and launched Douglas House with 24/7-supported accommodations for rough sleepers.► Grew program footprint across NT by developing sobering-up shelter in Darwin, 3 childcare centres in Darwin and 1 childcare centre in Katherine.► Appointed by QLD government as Member of Advisory Group on Carmody Report to implement recommendations from QLD Child Protection Commission of Inquiry.

I was appointed to direct the operational launch of 95 sites for a new Jobactive service offering. This included building the workforce, setting the policy and procedures and shaping the conditions for a multimillion-dollar employment contract. I also established and led a high-performing, specialised 3-member project team.► Expanded organisation from 3 to 95 sites through identifying strategic locations and formulating launch plans; set up and opened all sites within strict 6-month timeframe.► Cultivated high-performance workforce comprised of 180 managers and staff through developing clear role descriptions and requirements, shaping recruitment and selection processes, designing induction program and coordinating training.► Achieved 12,000 new clients through piloting marketing and promotions activities in addition to creating streamlined onboarding process.
