Unix Kernel Software Engineering Manager-Led teams to Architect and Design cross platform Unix solutions on multiple architectures, working closely with partnering teams, third parties, OEMs, and customers. Product innovations resulted in numerous patents and invention disclosures from team engineers.-Managed teams of 8-12 engineers (local and remote) on multiple Kernel Virtual Memory projects occurring simultaneously for multiple releases. Memory allocation and File System based projects included proprietary and standards based implementations for memory mapped files, clustered file systems, NUMA based, and virtually partitioned operating systems.-Organized and led recruiting efforts at college campuses and on site for 200+ employee organization.-Developed training programs & organized training events for newly hired engineers.-Program Manager for HP Unix Operating System kernel development organization for multiple products and releases.-Managed schedules, dependencies, risks, milestone meetings, and communication of status for products/releases.-Developed and executed plans to transition the design, testing, and support work to offshore organizations. Scoped the work, resources, partner dependencies, and metrics to monitor progress.

-Project lead responsible for Unix swapping features.-Key development engineer for dozens of virtual memory features and performance projects.-An initial architect of the Kernel Threads development for HP’s Unix OS.-Support engineer for multiple OS releases.-Initiated and led project to port Disk Quotas to HP’s Unix OS and implemented all kernel code, leading to a direct increase in sales to universities.-Extended Disk Quotas to run on HP’s proprietary Diskless OS, DUX, providing a server based version of Disk Quotas for customers.-Developed code for Unix Time-zone related commands-Developed localization code for Unix commands-Designed, coded, tested, debugged, and supported Real-Time memory management Operating System firmware for Digital Oscilloscopes and Frequency Counters.
