Whilst retaining our focus on B2B sectors such as IT and logistics, we’ve been able to strengthen our value proposition and the expertise we can offer our clients. Joining 2CV has allowed us to tap into a great consumer team, an in-house analytics function as well as offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Singapore.

Stood down as MD to concentrate on management of our largest account and deliver an increasing number of assignments aimed at helping clients maximise revenue from maturing customer bases. These have included brand-price elasticity studies, understanding product life cycles and triggers for replacement and a growing focus on measuring the impact of changing economic conditions. Outside the B2B sector, directed projects for social research clients including the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority), Macmillan, Design Council and the RNLI.

Led the transformation of RS Consulting from a company heavily focused on the technology sector to a diversified group with four complementary brands serving different customer sectors. Through recruitment and acquisition built a social research team with a range of clients including central and local Government, leading charities and many other third sector organisations.Dramatically improved our financial performance shedding low margin, low value-add projects in favour of higher margin work with a much greater consulting component. Expanded and strengthened the team, including establishment of dedicated marketing and systems development teams; the latter developing our own qualitative research platform (e-luminate).

Appointed to the Board in 1996 and responsible for the direction of the full service research team at RS Consulting. Together with key suppliers built our research capabilities in Asia and Latin America as the focus of our IT clients' business shifted from Western Europe to the emerging markets. Helped rejuvenate our quantitative offer with the use of a much wider range of trade-off techniques and introduced automation of reporting improving financial performance and staff morale!

Managed projects for key accounts in the IT and logistics segments which became increasingly multi-national as our clients expanded their customer bases. Also worked for long periods in the United States on projects for US clients. Designed and set-up a global study which tracked the installed base of inkjets and laser printers and the size of their associated markets for ink and toner cartridges. Originally commissioned in 1995 to cover Western Europe, the study was extended repeatedly and covered 15-20 countries each year in Europe (including Russia), North and South America and Asia Pacific.
