Since then, I have pursued my interest in Information Technology (IT) in the form of both hobbies and employment. With regard to the latter, I have served in a variety of roles in tech, including Owner, Senior Principal DevOps Consultant, and Board Member. Currently, I own and operate a business called Invictus International, Inc. My company offers online, programming, and web hosting services. I serve clients in 170+ countries and have offices in the U.S. and Europe. In addition to founding and running my own company, I am a freelance Executive DevOps consultant, helping and advising clients with system auditing, optimization, and automation. I am also on the Board of Directors for 3 companies and advise these Boards and company executives on virtually all issues related to technology. As I reflect on the past, I feel fortunate to have identified my career passion so early in life. At age 35, I have acquired 25+ years of experience in IT, and my career has afforded me many interesting opportunities. For example, I have worked in dozens of countries for weeks, and sometimes even months, at a time. I have also delivered motivational speeches and talks on training, mentoring, and coaching, which has allowed me to travel to 49 states (all but Rhode Island). In terms of my career achievements, one of my proudest moments was when I resolved a client’s Amazon Web Services (AWS) issue in 1 day when the company’s entire DevOps team had spent several weeks in an unsuccessful attempt to resolve this problem. I also automated all aspects (e.g., marketing and transactions) of my company’s web and server hosting services so that customers can make purchases without ever have to contact myself or my employees. My company provides services to hundreds of millions of customers simultaneously while preventing major capacity issues and keeping uptime on all services to nearly 100% (for 13+ consecutive years).
