Pre and post sale system engineering for state and local customers throughout California and Hawaii. Responsible for system design including requirements analysis, equipment selection, RF coverage analysis, network backhaul requirements and design, implementation support, coverage testing, and system documentation.• Lead System Engineer for City and County of Honolulu from 1/2019 through 4/2020. Finalized the implementation for the next gen radio system for Honolulu. Extensively tested and integrated existing Harris subscribers with the Motorola Infrastructure. Implemented and programmed the KMF. Implemented ISSI 8000 connection with the State of Hawaii. Led a successful coverage test using the Harris subscribers to compare the P25 coverage to the legacy EDACS coverage. • Lead System Engineer for East Bay Regional Communications System from 10/2013 – 1/2019Designed and implemented an expansion of their NICE Logging subsystem, and added 4 new MCC7500 dispatch sites to the network. Performed a detailed capacity analysis and proposals for RF channel expansions, and potential upgrade to TDMA. Regularly met with the customer to understand their operational requirements and give presentations on solutions to improve and simplify their operations.• System Design for Hawaii County RFP. Designed the dispatch and logging subsystems for Motorola’s response to the Hawaii County RFP which is now under contract. Design included 18 MCC7500 Dispatch positions, and logging recording subsystem which integrates with P25 trunking system and multiple telephony systems.• Lead System Engineer for City of Oakland’s transition from their standalone P25 system to EBRCS. Implemented 28 MCC7500 dispatch consoles across two locations for Oakland Police and Oakland Fire Dispatch. Worked closely with their dispatch and communications staff to implement unique solutions to meet their operational needs with a successful cutover to EBRCS in June 2016.
