The International Children's Games (ICG) is a recognised member of the International Olympic Committee and is the largest multi-sport youth games in the work, delivering a unique sports and cultural experience for young people. Lake Macquarie will host the event for approximately 1500 athletes and up to 400 volunteers in December 2014.As Operations Manager I am responsible for the following aspects of the Games:- Development and management of the operational, technical and logistical requirements to deliver the Games, including transportation, accommodation, signage, IT, competition events, schedules, technical guidelines, infrastructure and results keeping.- Stakeholder and partnership management - council staff, venues owners, ICG officials, sponsors and the community.- Delivery of all sporting components of the event in partnership with NSOs, SSOs and local associations.- Development and implementation of risk management, WHS procedures, technical requirements and environmental sustainability.- Operational and logistics management for the ICG Opening Ceremony, attracting up to 25,000 participants and community members.- Organisation and implementation of ICG Closing Ceremony, attended by up to 5000 athletes, officials and supporters.

The Eastern University Games will see over 3000 students come to Newcastle to participate in 17 sports from 6-10 July. The Games are an opportunity for all of the Eastern Region Universities to prepare for the Australian University Games, to be held in Sydney in September 2014.As Event Coordinator, I will be responsible for the following aspect of the Eastern University Games:- Planning: Event planning for all aspects of the Games, including sport, ceremonies, launches and promotion. - Financial management: Budget management, purchase orders, accounts payable- Games workforce: volunteer management of up to 10 key volunteers and 100 Games time volunteers across a range of areas including sport, special events and operations- Sport: Sourcing venues for all sports, liaison with venue managers, sourcing of competition managers, preparation of sports draws, sourcing of sports equipment.- Marketing and business development: assist the marketing team with sourcing of sponsors and sponsorship servicing during the event.- Special events: Opening and Closing ceremonies, and official event launch.- Operations: Venue logistics, risk management, transport and catering operations.- Liaison with key stakeholders: Communication with major event partners - Newcastle City Council, Newcastle University Sport, Destination NSW and the University of Newcastle.- Website management: development and management of website content for the EUG website.
