I am part of the support and delivery team of various IT systems that are accessed remotely around the world for Global Knowledge training courses. I ensure that all networks and systems are functional, secure, and running at acceptable performance levels. I achieve this by assisting the support and delivery team in maintaining labs of over 7,000 network devices, servers, and other components through which these products are developed and delivered. This is accomplished by analyzing, testing, and evaluating the network and server systems to eliminate problems. My job also involves performing network and system administrative procedures as well as maintaining documentation comprising of data control, applications training, setup process steps, data coordination, and scheduling. All of this guarantees that all networks and systems are functional and secure and running at acceptable performance levels. Besides networking, our team also performs system administration to detect, diagnose, analyze, and resolve customer problems associated with systems of network and server hardware and application software. This involves evaluating and installing systems, new software releases, patches, system upgrades, and resolving software related problems for Unix, Linux, and Microsoft operating systems. Due to the virtual nature of what we run, we use VMware vSphere, ESXi server, and some Citrix for administration and troubleshooting. Global Knowledge offers a variety of IT certification programs that includes Cisco, Microsoft, Webmaster, networking, and more. So our support and delivery team also prepares, validates, and delivers scheduled customer remote labs for all ILT (instructor lead teaching), VCeL (virtual classroom e-learning), and SPeL (self-paced e-learning) for courses. Furthermore, our support and delivery team performs testing on new courses based on the specifications from project management.
