All this while working under exceptionally unusual working conditions, aggressive deadlines, limited budget and resources, all under the spotlight of national media.I was entrusted to provide technical leadership across a range of complex programmes of work, ensuring our solutions met business and consumer needs, informing the development of policy and legislation, contributing to ministerial and cabinet briefings, and responding to media and other information requests.I learned a lot about how to develop technology that serves many different communities and the role of government in ensuring solutions stand up to not only technical scrutiny, but also ensuring they are equitable and accessible for all New Zealanders.
