Holding a National Security Clearance of ‘SECRET’, I held supervisory/management positions, with a strong background in emergency response, operational policing, maritime, liaison, planning, crisis management, preparation of operation orders and execution of large-scale inter-agency/jurisdictional operations, involving a wide spectrum of criminal matters, trademark law, public order, force protection, dignitary protection, development of policy and governance documentation. As the Education & Development Officer I developed specialised training courses, awareness & legal packages and changes to the OHS programs to keep pace with the modernisation of the command. This included the development of policies & introduction of training for operators including volunteer agencies. I was the driving force in the identification, trial and implementation of new uniforms, personal protective equipment, new equipment & emerging technologies. My experience with volunteers is enhanced by my ongoing involvement with the Local Ambulance Committee as the Secretary, Treasurer & as a Volunteer Ambulance Driver. This has seen me work to raise the level of emergency medical care available to people in the country by working to provide better trained volunteers to support the professional services and helping develop the community’s resilience by implementing community education programs. Possessing a high level of communication and interpersonal skills I am able to relate to people at all levels, utilising diplomacy and tact whilst exercising sound judgement on sensitive issues. These communication skills are supported by my well-developed computer skills providing work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
