Paul is the founder and Distiller at Few Spirits. Few Spirits is a micro/craft distillery in Evanston, Illinois and produces small batch spirits from Midwestern grains. Few Rye Whiskey was named Whisky Advocate Magazine's craft whisky of the year. In 2016, I sold FEW to Samson & Surrey, and in 2022, Heaven Hill purchased Samson & Surrey, including FEW.

The members and Board of the American Craft Spirits Association, the only nonprofit trade group in the small batch distillery industry, elected me as President in April 2016.

The ACSA is the only nonprofit trade association for small distillers in the US. The ACSA is truly run by distillers, for distillers, and on behalf of distillers. As a founding member of the ACSA, I have taken a leadership role as a member of the Board of Directors - an elected position, as voted on by my peers in the industry. I have been the founding Chair of the Ethics Committee, and worked with the committee to write the first Code of Ethics that was authored by distillers for distillers. The Code of Ethics has now become a mandatory part of membership in the ACSA - a distiller must agree to abide by it, or membership is denied.

I was elected to the Board of Advisors by my peers. DISCUS is the lobbying and trade group of the distilled spirits industry, and they have opened up their doors to small distillers so that the industry can speak with one voice. The Board of Advisors works with DISCUS to help grassroots lobbying on matters of interest to the industry as a whole, as well as help the larger members understand the perspective of smaller members.

I worked to protect the intellectual property interests of clients. I work with the other attorneys at the firm to provide a broad range of services to ensure the interests of firm clients are well protected.

I protect the competitive advantage of innovating companies. I work to focus resources to build an IP portfolio that adds value and adds to the bottom line as an investment, rather than expense. Competitive analysis to identify competitive position and provide guidance to focus resources for maximum ROI.

I have taught legal aspect of the entertainment industry for several years, and have engaged in the practice of entertainment law.
