At Capital One I had the pleasure of working as part of their Data Transformation effort where I helped move one of their last on-prem platforms, SAP Business Objects or Bobj, to AWS. We built a system to move over 300,000 reports, and store them to mitigate the effects of potential litigation or regulatory concerns. My work mainly consisted of developing a system to archive Bobj reports to AWS as they were generated. As an extra nice-to-have, I also developed a serverless UI in ReactJs to easily index and restore these reports for future litigators/regulators who may need access to this data.

With Vanguard, I assisted with early development on an early effort to develop an internal Data Lake on AWS. I worked primarily with AWS, utilizing EMR and Hadoop/Hive to develop a system to process data entering the lake.

With Outlit, I lead a small team of developers to create a mobile and web platform for event management. We worked with several fraternities on our college campus to gather requirements and assist in our customer discovery. The team worked with an accelerator in Roanoke, VA, called RAMP, where we had guidance from industry professionals and experienced entrepreneurs and small business owners. While working on Outlit, I discovered my deep interest in entrepreneurship and the intersection of technology and business strategy.Our app was developed in React Native, with some native development on Swift and Kotlin.

At Optum I went through a short R&D process working on prototyping a method of delivering drugs by remote drone. We started off trying to deliver epipens to those who needed it on demand, but quickly found that this would not be feasible. By the end of my internship we had pivoted towards delivering medication in disaster relief scenarios. Our prototype consisted of a mobile application and web application that used an API we created to manipulate our remote drone.

Created a script for the automation of the analysis of images to classify the characteristics of research grade retroreflectors used in laser spectroscopy experiments. The script reduced analysis time of the images from around 3 days by hand to 1.5 hours.
